Difference between PIC18F and PIC16F based slave S

Hello

I was just wondering if there is any difference between  between PIC18F and PIC16F based slave SID synths. Thorsten mentions somewhere that with a PIC18F core  the 3 voices of the SID can be addressed to different midi channels. Is this referring to the primary SID synth or to the slave SID synths as well?

And apart form this, are there any other differences between the 2 realisations?

Hi,

the difference is that the PIC16F version won’t be enhanced by new features anymore.

The sound engines of V1.5b are 100% equal, but I’ve skipped the plans to port the V1.6 functions to the PIC16F due to the effort (my own MIDIbox is now stuffed with 4 x PIC18F452).

ok, so if i want to use the new parameters of 1.6, curve,phase sync, aout… i will need 18f slaves, correct?
