difference beetween the 2 optimized c64 psu boards?

i noticed that the mbhp_sid_c64_psu.pdf is different respect to mbhp_4xsid_c64_psu_optimized.pdf

wich one should i try to realize?

now i have only one sid, but i’m planning to add at least another module soon

so wich one is the best?

Use the optimized one!

It’s optimized for best signal/noise ratio.

i’m doing the optimized one, but after that, should i modify the core module?

i read on the pdf that 7805 has to be removed, but i already did my core module!!!

You know, how to desolder a 7805?

Best Regards, Thorsten.

probably i sound stupid but to ask before to act for a beginner is always better

it’s just, that for looks a bit weird everything;

i mean, first i did core module following the instruction included the 7805

and then to give power to it, with the optimized psu

you have to remove it…

it’s like unusual

i’m removing it…stop me if i’m wrong!!!

i have to make a bridge with those 3 holes?

Nono! No bridges just desolder it so It will not regulate the current as the psu already delivers stable and regulated current. with bridges you would short circuit the core

anything else?

what about the sid module?

should i modify it too?

Ahem.

Actually all the information is in the mbhp_4xsid_c64_psu_optimized.pdf Just read the small print.

So, you better jumper between Pins 1<->3, where the 7805 was. ect. Just study the circuit.

Bye, Moebius

as moebius just said, you have to unsolder the 7805 and solder a bridge between the outer pins instead. Some of the other parts needed for power regulation are not needed anymore as well but it’s ok to leave them where they are.

OK! sounds like a lego gameto me but is allright thank you guys
