core stops sending request string

Hi,

I managed to upload mios to the core (mios 1.7), but after it finished, the bootstrap never sends the request string it is supposed to send when it starts. I’m worried that I would not beable to update mios on the next release.

could it be that it is because I’m using mios 1.7?

btw, i’m using a 6N139 optocoupler (not 6N138).

Any ideas?

Hi,

maybe a problem with the power-supply? Maybe the voltage level doesn’t raise to 5V fast enough before the core starts to run?

What does happen if you upload an application? MIOS should reset and the upload request string should appear like on a power-on.

That is correct, after I upload an application, the usual checksum messages appear and right after those - the request string.

What you said rings a bell on somthing else that might be related to that. When I started the core (before uploading mios) the core sents some “garbage” messages before sending the request string. Could this be the same problem?
