Can the mechanical keys found in computer keyboards (A, S, D, F etc) be used as buttons in a MIDIBOX? 
If they can, they would be nice for play, stop and other transport buttons. And it’s easy to remove the letters painted on them and paint something else (or even change its color). ???
Please don’t answer that I should just use the keyboard instead ;D

Most computer keyboards I have taken apart, have a large membrane that the key presses the membrane closing two contacts on a pcb. I don’t think it would really be usable without using the whole thing.
The samchillian does just this. No construction details though.
