Cheap alps encoder...

PLEASE!

can someone tell me if the alps encoder, found on mouser (search “+alps +encoder” on the web site, page 660 on their catalog) work with the midibox?? they are one, the EC12E that are only 1.49$…!!!

I would prefer the EC24E, it costs the same but sends 24 pulses/rotation. In the catalouge it isn’t clear if this is really a detented or non-detent type - however, if it is detented it will only work with MIOS

but is it a real problem if they only work with the MIOS?

Please Thorsten can you clarify one thing …

Which type of encoder, i mean 24 or 36 imp/turn, in :

  • Midibox 16E

  • Midibox 18F

Because some frenchies (and me) want to make a big order to have the best price …

Hi Gilles,

MIDIbox16E only supports undetented encoders, MIOS supports detented and undetented types. Just show me a datasheet and the exact part number before you make the order

the resolution is not important for MIOS … and for MidiBox16E …
