9090 - day 1

No bending-gauge used, seems that I lost mine and "can’t" wait, so start free-hand today!

Psu main mixer 02

Behringer is a good choise…

…to use its enclosure for real mixers!

Psu main mixer 01

After the transformer of my main-mixer died (~20year old snookums), finally decided to build a new external PSU (ya see, I like ext.-PSUs ^^)

A lovely piece of art!

provisory case

After years of PCBs laying around, finally start to build a few weeks ago. Actual state: "Provisional case solution" (for testing different arrangement of the parts as well as finetuning and development of the planned hw-seq. If all is ready one day, change to a "real" case, overshrinking connections, shorten cables and laying them properly, [..] will follow for sure!)

PCBs and first parts arrived today.

Re: comomidi

Nothing funny about this  Keep up the DIY spirit

Re: comomidi

cheers mate!

Re: 9090 - day 1

Red PCBs? Nice.

Re: 9090 - day 1

Yeah, I love it!

Re: 9090 - day 1

Nice pcb rig  I need to get myself one of those.

Re: 9090 - day 1

It’s called “Weller ESF 120”, just in case ya don’t know it allready.

Looks a litle bit pricely first (~60€) but it’s one of the things to set and forget, together with a miniature-vise (and the soldering-iron surely) the most used tool in my workshop.

Re: Psu main mixer 02

Do NOT plug headphonez in2 dis!

Re: Psu main mixer 02

Haha smithy. would make your hair go :afro:

Re: Psu main mixer 02

You found a good use for Behringer Equipment :phone:

Wb Smithy! :clover:

Re: Psu main mixer 02

@Smithy: If anyone realy manage to connect his/her heady to the 7-pin-output he/she will get the straightest 50hz-bass ever heard! :shifty:

Seriously, I’m the only one who use the deck …and I hope I know what I do! löl

@Hawkeye: The only one in my opinion, cheers mate!

Re: provisory case

I like it! Looks a lot more solid than my cardboard version.

Re: provisory case

My computer is two rooms away from my workshop, so I want something to grap all in one for transport.

In the beginning I carry everything for its own, then (re)connect - again and agin - pain in the arse!

Re: Filtrex

awww. gotta love it

Re: Filtrex

We’ll see, but think so!

Re: Filtrex

Yum! An evening of solder fun and you’re good to go

Re: Filtrex

The most annoying part at the moment is, to find a cheap but good 19" 2HE case.

Cheapsest is 46€ here, quite expensive for some sheet.

Looking for something 2HE to rip-off, but nothin on the bay a.t.m, so grasp the nettle and buy the 46€-one in the next days if nothin change or someone have a good alternate to tell.

Re: Filtrex

What i did for mine is to get a cheap 1u case (I went for the mono) and then send FPE (USA Schaeffer), the results were really good and the case plus CNC worked out right around $100

Re: Filtrex

A cheap decent case is hard to find. I bought some at Pollin.de. But i find them pretty crappy.

Re: Filtrex

Thanks for ya replies.

As I said before, if I don’t find some cheap stuff to rip-off (and just use its case) I’ll go for the Adam-Hall one for 46€ - Value for the money is excellent.

The other option is to buy a leaf-break instead, but we’ll see…
