i found a project example using a PIC16F (with I²C link) and a Philips (PDIUSBD11) USB chip, available in DIP package (not SMD)  ;D

For myself the “USB chapter” is finished…

regarding the philips chip: see http://www.findchips.com — the availability is nearly zero, so: wasted effort…
