Anfängerfrage - Fader Automation

Hallo zusammen,

ich bin neu hier im Forum und auf dem Gebiet Controllerbau und Elektronik würde ich mich als Anfänger bezeichnen.

Programmieren sollte allerdings kein Problem darstellen und ich kann auch einigermaßen mit einem Lötkolben umgehen.

Ich habe mir ein älteres Mischpult mit Motorfadern gekauft die ich gerne per MIDI ansteuern würde.

Und nach einigem Suchen bin ich auf die midibox gestoßen und denke, dass das damit funktionieren sollte.

Da ich ja aber elektronisch nicht so fit bin würde mich interessieren ob meine Fader (Auszug aus dem Schaltplan im Anhang) denn überhaupt mit midibox ‘kompatibel’ sind (obwohl sich mir inzwischen der Gedanke aufdrängt, dass es wohl kaum etwas per MIDI zu Steuerndes gibt, was mit midibox nicht funktionieren sollte).

Insgesamt sollen in der Ausbaustufe 48 Fader, 2 -3 Taster je Fader und 2-3 anzusteuernde LEDs per Fader zusammen kommen - und wenn ich erfolgreich bin komme ich vielleicht auf noch mehr dumme Gedanken :slight_smile:

Kann mir jemand weiterhelfen mit der Information, ob es überhaupt geht (s. rot eingekreiste Punkte im Anhang) und welche Boards (und wie viele) ich dazu brauche / brauchen werde ? 

Welche Informationen werden evtl. noch benötigt um die Frage beantworten zu können ?

Ich würde zunächst mal mit einem einzigen (oder doch gleich mehrere ?) Fader anfangen und dann aufbauen.

Hi Zam,

thanks for getting back to me.

Since I am a newbie, I thought it was easier for me to communicate in German due to my lack of knowledge in building such things and in electronics as well.

Programming is not that much a problem and I can use a solder iron to a certain extent.

I bought an older mixing desk and want to automate the faders using MIDI - and I think, midibox can do all I want :slight_smile: … such a great development here.

Just wanted to know, if I can do what I want with the faders controlled in a way as mentioned in the partial schematics of the fader / control system (the red circles should give a clue - hopefully).

There will be about 48 faders in the end, together with 2-3 push buttons and 3 LEDs per fader.

Can this be done and if yes, how many (and which ones) boards do I need to get where I want ?

I didn’t read through all the Wikis and documentation for midibox yet but I hope it is possible and with not too much effort - although I expect programming to take quite some time.

Btw - if we continue to communicate in english … should this thread be in another forum ?

Also, ich habe nun ein paar Dinge herausgefunden :

  1. ) ich will mich mal eingehender mit den ganzen Möglichkeiten der midibox Projekte beschäftigen um dann zu sehen, welche Konfiguration ich brauche

      Die Beschreibungen sind wirklich gut - danke

2.) zwischen computer send und return geht es immer mit 0-5V

3.) Um die Motorsteuerung muss ich mich nicht kümmern weil die, abhängig von der CV, von der Platine schon gemacht wird

4.) Die Taster liefern 0V (low) und 6V (high)

5.) ich denke mal, MIDIBOX64 ist das richtige Einsteigerpaket

6.) Sollte ich den Motor trotzdem direkt ansteuern wollen, geht das für 8 Fader damit auch

Ok - so I found out a couple of things :

1.) I will get more into the midi box projects to see which configuration I need in the end

    The descriptions are pretty good - thanks

2.) Between computer send and return, we are talking 0-5V

3.) I don’t have to care about the motor since this is done by the board I already have and is dependent on the CV

4.) The buttons have 0V (low) and 6V (high)

5.) So I guess, MIDIBOX64 is the right thing to start with

6.) In case I want to control the motor(s) as well, this is also possible with this kit for 8 faders

2- I think you need AD an DA there, to read fader servo track at “computer send” and send it back to the console at “computer return”

3- you mean you have another board connected at “motor out” ? because I don’t really believe a motor is directly connected here !

 

now some questions:

-Is IC3.3 input a VCA bus for grouping?

-where IC15.6 (output) go ? Is that the VCA to bus?

-I think I already see this schemo somewhere, what console it is ?

2 - that’s what I think as well … and midibox64 kit should have that

3 - yes, this is a board sitting between the fader and the computer

 

  • yes, IC3.3 is for grouping

  • IC15.6 output is going to some kind of settings store / recall
