Is it possible to have more than the 16 rotary encoders+ledrings on the 16e?
I want mine to have 48., with ledrings around each…

Don’t forget that that might cost you quite a bit…
You’ll have to use MIOS also, so you’ll need to modify some ASM code…
The enc_example3 supports 64 rotary encoders and 64 LED rings by default
