Alive Core? (was: Dead Core?)

So, after a few misshaps I manage to wire the LCD to the core.

I get all sorts of weird lines, complete nonsense.

I invert the cable and only get the backlight, no messages, characters, nothing.

dead core after all?

Addendum: running my own PCB with smash tv’s PIC.

Did all the voltage testing…

Desperate…

Hi,

You can maybe check if the constrast voltage needed by your LCD should be negative or positive.

I don’t remember exactly what it does when you don’t have the right one but if I remember correctly you don’t see any character on the screen.
