6581 R4 or R4AR?

hi again!

I bought a 6581R4 on ebay, but the guy offered me an R4AR instead.  I spend an hour googling the different reversions but all the links to samples were dead:(

Which one would you guys pick?

Hi:

AR means Advanced Resonance, but I think there isn’t a great

difference with a standard R4.

I have an R4AR myself a sounds OK. I have a R3 too, but I tried only

once to choose wich I gonna use in my MidiBox, and to be honest

I pick the R4AR mostly because is newer, the R3 sounds more gritty

and the filter has less effect on the sound, but that could be a defective

filter.

Anyway, if the filter is working OK I don’t think there are much difference

unless you go for a 8580 or a 6582.

lol samples… Too bad you cant just order a bunch of samples from the semiconductor factory ;-D
