511-M74HC165 shift register question

Hey all does anyone know where I can get a hold of 6-10 511-M74HC165 shift registers? Digikey and Mouser are out, and the estimated ship date is sometime in October… I might die of impatience before I get my MB-808 done :slight_smile:

Sorry, 6-10 was quantity, and the other was part of the mouser #. I copied and pasted and then forgot to edit.

Any 74HC165 will do :slight_smile: Which means reichelt, conrad, mouser, rs, digikey, … all have them.

grizz: that’s the one I normally buy for kits. I’ve had to buy Mouser 512-MM74HC165N for the current batch of sammichSID. I think Digikey had some also but they were more expensive.

Thanks for the replies. I like the chip search… I’ll be using that in the future I’m sure. I went with these 771-74HC165N from Mouser.

When I’m stuck for common parts (such as HC logic) I just go to ebay :smiley:

The UK, US, canada, and of course ‘china’, have lots of electronics shops wher eyou can by one, ten, even batches of 100 of common logic in DIP or SMT for reasonable prices. Usually about 50% of what you would get from a company like mouser. But you’re not guaranteed the quality/reliability as you are with a large electronics distributor, altohugh I haven’t had any ‘dead chips’ yet.
