Hello,

For a while i’m planning on making a midibox to control the mixing of my FLStudio.

I thought long about how it would be the most efficient for my workflow and i made a first design, the attachment is a little sketch of my idea, i need to make it more detailed but this is just to get the idea.

I want to control 16 channels at a time, and be able to route channel 1-8 to 8-16.

So i thought some sort of routing matrix using the buttons from sparkfun would be pretty cool…

Any thoughts on this? I’m now going to inventarise what i exactly need to control and then i am going to make a parts list…

looks good. A nice option to integrate would be a switch to use the buttons like a drumsequencer for your fruityloops patterns. Is it possible in fruity to turn several steps on or off via midi ?? that would be 2in1. :smiley:

Yes, i was thinking about that…

If i could make the pads velocity sensitive i could even use it as a trigger for my drumsamples…

But i need to do a little research on that

well, for the backlit buttons, i will just order them from sparkfun.

But making them velocity sensitve is maybe a little too much…

I was looking at this URL and i noticed that the link to the documentation is dead…  :cry:

His documentation about RGB Leds could be pretty helpfull i think.

You can look in Google’s cache to find back at least the text, pics are gone but OK that’s a good start I guess…

If you type "http://www.suckow.de/ralph/ledmatrix4x20/" as a search criteria then you get two links and if you look next to the address line in green, there’s the “cached” link on which you can click to get the text.

This is why I always discourage people from using their own web host. SOOOOO MANY great DIY projects have been lost this way :cry:

mmm something must have gone wrong in my copy/paste. If you copy/paste the link from the post you referred to then google finds something.

When I go on the two pages in the cache of google it gives me this adress:

I got the pages including pictures, really helpfull! The way he made the buttons is nice too. Maybe i will make my buttons in the same way because sparkfun buttons are pretty expensive…

edit: is it ok to put this page in the wiki? i didn’t wrote it but i think it’s a great resource…
