16F88 - 16F84(A) compatibility

Can I use PIC16F88 adapter for programming PIC16F84(A) i need for some other project? They are pin cpmpatibile.

What about programming software and voltages? P18 at 12.5V, right?

PIC16F84 is pretty popular. Somebody here muste be using it before?

Please, give me some info.

I’ve used PIC16F84 before, long time ago, I burned them with a JDM programmer without any problems.

If the programming pins are the same (I think they are, but compare the datasheets yourself) just try it with the same voltage as recommended for PIC16F88, it should work. If the programming voltage (VPP) is higher than expected, I think it will still work, and won’t kill it

Yes, as I said they are pin compatibile. I was concerned about voltages and maybe some options I sould check or uncheck. I`ll give it a try as it is 16F88. Thanks Wilba

AFAIK, and i’m far from an expert on these things! The difference is just that the A can handle more current. Just check the datasheets on microchip.com.

I think you get we are talking about differences betveen A and normal version?

It is abot 16F 88 and 16F 84 programing compatibility

PIC 16F84A can be burned with PIC burner and P18 software.
